Outside Lands Campaign

I designed a poster and supporting items for the Outside Lands Music and Arts Festival. The illustrations and typography were made using cut paper. The illustrations draw inspiration from natural elements because of the festival’s emphasis on the outdoors.
The main focus of this project is the poster, which set the visual direction for the supporting components to follow.
I began by sketching initial concepts for the poster and exploring mediums I could use for the From there, I created a digital draft using vector shapes to visualize the composition and scale of the illustrations. Finally, I cut the shapes from cardstock, then scanned and refined them in Photoshop.
My approach when designing these components was to rearrange my illustrative elements to best fill the space of each one. I also selected components that I felt were realistic and appropriate within the context of the campaign.
